Funeral services are offered for current members of our parish. In special cases, we may host funerals for individuals who have had a credible past relationship with St. George in the Pines, but permission for these services is at the discretion of the Rector.
As noted, services are generally for parish members. However, individuals with a past relationship with St. George in the Pines may be considered for a funeral service at the discretion of the Rector.
If your family wishes to have a clergy member not licensed to St. George in the Pines preside over the service, you must acquire written permission from the Archbishop. This written approval should then be presented to the Rector of St. George's.
In special circumstances, citizens of Banff who are part of the Orthodox Church may be granted permission to have a funeral at St. George in the Pines. This permission is at the discretion of the Anglican Archbishop of Calgary.
