Dear St. George’s family,

Did you know you could read the whole Gospel of Mark in an afternoon? It’s the shortest of the four gospels and it moves fast. Jesus is always heading somewhere new, and the disciples are usually a step behind trying to keep up. At the end of this month we begin the Advent journey, and most of our Sunday gospel readings will come from Mark, so it’s going to be with us for most of the year.

I’d love for us to read it together during the week as well. I’ve set up a page for St. George’s on the YouVersion Bible App, and through the year I’ll be recommending Bible plans there that fit the season we’re in. Our first one will be a study of Mark.

If you don’t use the Bible App yet, I really recommend it. It’s free, and it’s one of the best Bible tools I know of. You can read in lots of different translations, or listen to the audio when you’re driving or out for a walk. What I’m most excited about is that we’ll be reading the same passages at the same time. When you come on Sunday, you’ll already have spent some time with the passage, and you’ll know others from the church have been reading it with you.

To join in, download the Bible App and then follow our church page using the button below. Whenever we start a new plan it’ll show up there, and you can jump in with the rest of us.

I’m looking forward to reading Mark with you.
