Dear St George family,
I’m writing with an important update about our online presence and some recent scam attempts we want you to be aware of.
Our old domain, www.stgeorgesinthepines.com, no longer belongs to us. Unfortunately, it has been acquired by another party who has used it to create fake websites impersonating St. George’s in the Pines.
Whenever we discover these fake websites, we immediately report them, and they are taken down. However, the domain owner persists in setting them back up. This ongoing issue means we all need to stay vigilant to avoid falling victim to these scams.
Here’s how you can help:
Making these small changes will go a long way in helping everyone stay connected to the right information.
Unfortunately, scammers have been sending emails pretending to be from me or other clergy at St. George’s. These emails might ask you not to call, to just reply by email, or—eventually—to send money or gift cards.
Let me be really clear:
If you ever get an email or message like this and something feels off, please don’t hesitate to call our office and confirm. Better safe than sorry!
It’s a sad reality that these kinds of scams exist, but by staying vigilant and working together, we can protect each other and our community.
Thank you for all the ways you support our ministry—you’re a vital part of what God is doing here at St. George’s.
Blessings,
Rev. Seth Enriquez
