Dear St. George’s Family,

After a month away on parental leave, I’m back, sleep deprived but happy, and really, really grateful for this church. It’s a rare and wonderful thing to step away and know, without a doubt, that everything is in good hands. And sure enough, thanks to all of you, things carried on not just smoothly but beautifully.

First, a huge thank you to our leadership team in Bill Pringle, Rick Gummer, and Alex Kurdiukov for keeping things running without a hitch. The business of the church, the day-to-day details, none of it skipped a beat. That’s no small thing, and I am deeply grateful.

Ji Won Baxter, you are a rockstar. Keeping the church business organized, leading music, making sure things didn’t quietly implode behind the scenes, it does not go unnoticed.

And to Bill Pringle, Rev. Howard Thornton, and Archbishop Greg Kerr-Wilson, thank you for faithfully leading Sunday services. It’s no small thing to step in and care for a church family while the rector is away, and I am incredibly grateful.

A special shoutout to Charlynn Odegard and Elisha Joshua for leading Banff Food & Friends and keeping that ministry thriving, and to Cathy Whittle, who has been lovingly caring for our church linens. These details, often unseen, are what make St. George’s feel like home.

Now that I’m back, I can’t wait to see everyone at Banff Food & Friends, at Bible Study, and of course on Sunday. And, bonus, you’ll get to meet the newest, tiniest Enriquez, Josephine Linda Enriquez. She’s cute, she’s small, she doesn’t contribute much to church life yet, but she’s got a strong set of lungs and a very endearing presence.

Thank you all for your prayers and support in this season. I have felt them. Our family has felt them. And I am so glad to be back with you.

See you soon,
Rev. Seth Enriquez
